Natal Rubber Group of Companies operates out of its own premises covering 30000 square meters in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa .

Natal Rubber Group of Companies comprises of: Natal Rubber Compounders which manufactures over 250 specially designed rubber compounds to meet customer requirements; NRC Belting which produces conveyor belting, sheeting and products for the precure tread industry, sheeting for the footwear industry and associated moulded goods; Hitec Rubber which manufactures and supplies natural and synthetic rubber linings to customer specifications.

2007

Natal Rubber Compounders commissions a new K6 Farrel Mark 5 Intermix, which makes use of the latest technology available, to provide compounds with high quality dispersive mixing.

2005

Merger of Natal Rubber Group of Companies and Hitec Rubber to form one of the largest non-tyre rubber groups in Africa.

2003

Expansion of NRC Belting factory, purchase and commission of additional belt and thick sheet press. Introduction of straining facility into colour and black mixing facilities.

2002

Purchase of second adjacent property giving an additional 3 200 square meters of warehousing and finished goods storage.

1997

Purchase of adjacent factory of 10 000 square metres thereby doubling the area of factory floor available.

Establishment of NRC Chamberlain, a joint venture agreement with Chamberlain (UK) Ltd. 450 tons of equipment shipped out to South Africa for the new factory and a world class sheeting facility installed.

1996

Installation of Rotocure Unit able to produce continuous lengths of cured rubber sheeting for use in roofing, gasketing and tank linings and also to manufacture transmission belting.

1992

Establishment of NRC Elastomers (UK) Ltd operating out of Bristol, England.

1987

Purchase of belt manufacturing plant from Cable Belt (UK) Ltd and license to produce the group's Southern African conveyor belting requirements for 10 years.

1976

Natal Rubber Compounders (NRC) was founded to provide the retread rubber requirements of three independent retreaders.
