NRC - Chamberlain
This company within the group has its own rubber mixing facility, it also moulds, buffs and prints sheets. In addition it has the capability to mould small articles such as heels and soles for the footwear industry.
Mixing
The mixing facility has been setup as a colour operation. When the colour black is required a masterbatch is used - no free carbon black is used in the factory. The colour compounds are produced for both external and internal customers. The recent addition of a staining facility enables NRC Chamberlain to offer specialised contaminant free compounds for critical applications, such as rubber rollers.
Moulding
NRC Chamberlain produces both metric and imperial size sheets. Using a highly specialised moulding operation these sheets have either a moulded or a plain finish. A variety of customer specific heels and unit soles are moulded from the highest grade of compound.
Printing
The variety of printed finishes available are dictated by the fashion industry and are used in both ladies and gents high quality dress wear. The print line is the only one of its kind in Africa and one of a dozen worldwide. These products are used in the local South African market and exported worldwide. They find their way into the USA and European markets via manufacturing operations in China and Taiwan.
